Pregnancy Yoga is a perfect form
of gentle preparation
for the rigors and delights of labour.
Muma Yoga is a gentle connective class with individual attention for pregnant
women or post baby . The class is also suitable for any women with female problems
wishing to attend a gentle healing class. It is held on Saturday mornings for
those women who work full time. Yogic philosophers revere the Divine aspect
of creation “Shakti”. The practice of pregnancy yoga honours this
same principle within every woman. The Goddess within ~The creative
principle. Our life force circulates through our wombs, aligning ourselves
with this inner force brings us into harmony with the infinite circle of life.
Pregnancy Yoga can assist you in meeting the demands of your changing body with
equanimity and strength.. and prepares you and your baby for a more conscious
delivery. Pregnancy yoga (also known as prenatal yoga) incorporates gentle,
safe movements and stretches to strengthen and relieve common discomforts of
pregnancy. The breathing exercises are for centering and connection to the newly
forming life within.Pregnancy yoga works on many levels it is also fun and a
social interaction with other women undergoing and sharing of experiences. We
have in our short time of academy's operation had quite a few babies. Next term
we will be adding to our timetable a class for mums with their new babies. Meditation
and relaxation techniques are included to release fear and tension of birthing
and to promote the well being of yourself and your baby. Nada yoga or yoga of
sound also plays a definate part in Kali's classes the babies really respond
to music and sound~ many of the mothers report after birth how their children
settle so easily upon hearing the music or sounds we used in class. Pregnancy
is a sacred time of gentle moderation; hence you are always encouraged to modify
movements or to rest when necessary.In the pregnant state you’re naturally
more flexible, due to the release of the hormone (relaxin). It is advantageous
to begin early in pregnancy but not imperative. Pregnancy Yoga is also appropriate
for post natal and menstrual conditions.

In our Muma Yoga Class we have a Doula / Psychologist Toni Armstrong she can assist
you with all aspects of your pregnancy away from class and also act as a birthing
support person.

We also have our Tuesday evening Gentle/ Restorative/class which
caters for pregnancy for women who have either yoga experience or another
recent exercise regime. This helps those expecting mothers who wish to
do more than one yoga class per week or who would like to attend an evening
pregnancy class.

Kali has been a qualified practicing Clinical Hypnotist for over a decade, she is also a Master Yoga teacher and experienced Meditator and Spiritual Educator.
Hypnotherapy can aid pregnant couples to bond more deeply with their baby in utero. It connects you to and aids you to trust your own inner knowingness .It dispells negative belief systems and old conditioning. The pregnant woman learns to fully appreciate this creative time as a space of grace, a blessing. She experiences the Goddess within this-their own beautiful pregnant body. You can even have a body cast created to remember this beautiful state of grace forever. Hypnosis leads you through your own unique birth experience and gives you skills that are a boon for your whole lifetime.
It is always wise to suggest that the client inform her doctor about the hypnotherapy sessions.
If it is at all possible, it is effective to involve the partner as much as possible. The partner can be an invaluable 'co-therapist' during labour, particularly if the therapist is not the obstetrician and not planning to be at the birth. Birth Partners may be brought into the process and have their own hypnotic relaxation cues, as well as find their unique role in which to assist in the birthing process. Hypnotherapy can be used just as successfully by Single Mothers or by women whose partners do not wish such an active role in the birth process. The patient is taught self hypnosis and how to apply this technique to many other areas of her life. Hypnosis may be used in labour for patients who have had no previous experience and does not necessarily need to be deep to be effective.
Genuine hypnotic trance anesthesia is attained.
Your own individual CD can be created for use at home and during the birth. Symphonic Gongs and singing Crystal bowls are incorporated into this. The unborn child loves these sounds and respond to them as new borns it calms and settles them often lulling them into a deep peaceful sleep.
Kali addresses the mind, body, and spirit of both Mother, Father and Baby, it is a profound and joyous experience. A True Celebration of life!

Mums & Babies
This
class is to gentle restore your post natal body and for you to playfully connect
with your baby and other mothers and their babies in a relaxing safe nurturing
centred environment. A much needed chance to get back into your yoga practice
and for your baby to experience a different form of touch and movement. There
will be time to have a herb tea and natter to share and ask questions just be
supported by each other. We shall also have special times to have a little massage
and learn baby massage techniques. Bookings are essential so please express
your interest so this class can commense. For mums and babies untill crawling.
