Mums & Babies Yoga is an excellent way for mothers and babies to bond and for the new mother to get back in touch with her body. Your baby also recieves a gentle introduction to a wider range of movement and acts a weight aiding you to strengthen your core. This gentle yoga class is designed to work the areas of the body most affected by pregnancy, childbirth and caring for a baby: hips, back, stomach, waist, pelvic floor, uterus, anus, vagina and bladder. Stretching and toning the muscles at the side of the waist and hips is particularly important for new mothers, as these muscles become slack from having supported the heavy uterus, and the back and shoulder stretches counteract the hunching that is an inevitable from breast-feeding a baby several times a day. Once you’re in a yoga routine you bring this enjoyment into your daily routine. Yoga with babies goes hand-in-hand with massage.. ‘In India the custom is, starting from birth, to give the baby a daily massage with oil, followed by yoga, and finally a bath.’ Bonding between and parent is strongly promoted by touch, and fathers, who sometimes feel left out of the whole process of caring for a baby, can also enjoy massaging their baby and sharing gentle yoga sequences with them..

BABY MASSAGE

New babies are so precious to us sometimes we are afraid to touch them for fear they may break!. Learning baby massage helps us to handle our babies in loving nurturing confident manner- The baby needs this confidence to relax too. Can you remember being pushed head first with a series of strong contractions into a bright , loud alien world? Wouldn't you want a massage too? Touch is our first and most vital sensory experience. Research shows that our earliest experiences with touch can affect our whole lives. Nurturing touch (or the lack of it) can impact the way we think, feel and relate to others. Infant massage uses gentle, tactile stimulation and loving communication and deepens the bond between parents and baby. It is a shared joyous experience, done with the baby not to it. Massage helps relieve colic and tummy discomfort, it stimulates baby's physiological development. Research studies show respiratory, muscular, circulatory and immune systems all benefit form the positive effects of massage. Baby massage promotes neurological development the baby's ability to handle stimulation is increased and brain development is enhanced. The strokes used can be both stimulating and relaxing, depending on each baby's needs and developmental level. It is easy to learn and a pleasant method of positive interact ion...........................
